The top performer is the 6.2L V8, but even though it tops out at 420 horsepower, its 460 lb-ft of torque doesn’t come close to Ford’s numbers. And though V8s sound great, they’re not exactly known for fuel efficiency, especially when you’re hauling.
Towing Capacity
Another number to look at is towing capacity. If you’re planning to haul a boat, camper, or utility trailer, this is where the 2025 Ford Expedition really shows up strong. With the standard Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, the Expedition can tow up to 4,355 kg (9,600 lbs). The GMC Yukon puts up decent numbers too, with a max towing capacity of 3,720 kg (8,200 lbs). Not bad, but still a step behind if towing is something you do often.
